I woke at 04:00 At 15:00 the day I was diagnosed with a life threatening and was admitted to this hospital. I was seen as part of some triage process. My wife left me at 22:00, taking all my valuables including keys, wallet & mobile 'phone; no food but lots of lighting but I tried unsuccessfully to sleep. At 01:00 a junior doctor came and tried, painfully but unsuccessfully, to insert a catheter up my urethra, despite my protestations after his first attempt that I thought that he was doing damage inside my bladder. Neither would he listen to my explaining to him why I thought that this was so. This unlistening doctor disappeared leaving me on a trolley surrounded by the messy packaging from the catheter etc. After he had not re-appearred some 30 minutes later I felt the need to urinate so I cleared up the mess that he had made and when to the toilet, where it was painful to urinate. Returning to the trolley at 02:00 with reappearance of the doctor and having had no sleep for 22 hours I decided that I could take no more of this maltreated and that I would go home for some sleep. The nursing staff would not only not allow me to telephone my wife but then tried to force me into a wheel chair against my will. I felt that it was quiet ironic that there was a notice saying what would happen if a patient threatened physical violence but nothing about what would happen if the reverse occurred, which is what I felt happened to me. So having had to resort to verbally "threatening" them with complaining to the Police of their physical abuse to myself \i left the hospital to walk the 20 miles ( that's 32 kilometers ) to my home
