A team leader rang with regards to the review. He simply re affirmed the decision made not to see me. I requested for my situation to be escalated to a higher Grade and was directed towards PAL. I re requested for an escalation and was simply told to make a complaint in writing. Very disappointed to see the onus being put on the vulnerable and desperate. I'm not surprised this unit has a 1 star rating.which is supported by scathing comments which are all of a similar theme. Why is no one looking at this. Hawkeys Lane apply the guidelines rigidly and don't listen to what the patients needs are. None empathetic staff, none patient focused. The practices, behaviours and standards should be subject to an urgent review considering public money is not being utilised effectively which is evident in the patient footprint. It's not surprising that the highest suicide rates are being recorded with North Tyneside sitting at the top of the table. Nothing short of an absolute disgrace that someone steeped in suicidal ideation (brought on by a prescribed unrelated drug) should be turned away despite being referred to them by the GP and other services. May God forgive you..
