I have been waiting for surgery since I was first diagnosed with gallstones in August 2014. The process of getting he surgery was lengthy and very intransparent, information was hard to come by and I sometimes waited for weeks. In the end, I got in when another patient cancelled, and everything was very last minute and unplanned, despite the wait.
The team in Ninewells was very friendly and organized, from the nurse who welcomed me personally to the ward to the fact that I was in theatre two hours later, after having spoken to all doctors and having had all tests. The doctors were great and professional and the surgery went well. The nursing team looked after me with great care, despite being busy. They made sure I was comfortable and okay and helped me any time I asked, I could not have wished for a better team. A big thank you for all.
