I was listened to and helped to my needs
Great staff and was listened to
The information and help required was great
First referral: I had a truly awful practitioner who refused to ever get my name right, and had absolutely no interest in my care. The psychiatrist started a new medication and in the same breath dumped me back to my GP. Unfortunately, I ended up having to be re-referred as I shouldn't have been discharged in the first place.
Second referral: Different practitioner, who was friendly, but completely inaccessible as you have to go through the admin team to get through to her. The admin team rarely bothered replying to emails, and the receptionist I was faced with at New Horizons in Slough was incredibly frustrating. I had tried to reschedule an appointment but of course, never received a response to my email, so I attended during my work day. I was booked in and asked to wait; after an hour, I realised they had forgotten about me, and they subsequently lied to cover their mistake/the fact that the practitioner hadn't turned up. The practitioner 'called back' later that day but the phone only rang for about 10 seconds, so I didn't reach it before she left a voicemail to say my appointment would be rearranged - which obviously never happened due to sustained admin failures. A random person then called me one day to ask intrusive questions about my mental health, the answers to which indicated that I definitely still needed help; yet the practitioner subsequently discharged me (by voicemail!). A throughly disappointing experience.
