I am a wheelchair user and after waiting in reception for 45 minutes, was wheeled to a cubicle where the nurse didn't offer to help me remove my coat or put my bag within reach. I felt I was just dumped as she left quickly. I had no information about how long I would wait or when my operation would be. After 2 hours waiting, another nurse came in and offered to help me take my coat off and put me on a trolley. After taking blood test etc, she didn't provide me with a pillow or do anything to ensure I was comfortable. This was not what I expected from private funded patient care. Just over an hour later, I was wheeled to theatre and from then on the care and staff were excellent although the pre-ordered refreshments never arrived before I left.
