I have been admitted to neville hall several times in the last 25 years as a patient with a long standing illness and have always had good treatment and care and felt very looked after by all the staff. However in my most recent admission, I was very isolated and was lucky if I saw one nurse a day. I also had difficulty with another patient who I overheard making nasty remarks about me to a nurse because I was being isolated due to having the flu. I had to walk to the toilets with a mask on to prevent spreading which I accepted but to hear another patient saying to a nurse that I shouldn be allowed to use the toilet was very upsetting to me, particularly as I saw no-one all day every day for over a week practically. This same nurse I also found in this other patients room where the patient was smoking an e cig in her room. I complained to a staff member about the other patient who I overheard being horrible to many people including staff, but my concerns weren’t taken seriously. I was provided with little information day by day and was only seen by nurses when it was time to give the mess out. I went about five days without seeing a doctor. I can honestly say this spell in hospital made me feel very down and I pity more vulnerable patients who are less able to do things for theirselves being in that situation
