We recently had an elderly relative admitted to this hospital. We couldn’t feel more let down or angry by the treatment our relative and we, as family, received. Nurses spend more time chatting than nursing. They become angry or look put put out if you request anything. Medications are forgotten. We’ve even seen incorrect dosages being given. Patients are left needing help sometimes for hours. There is no care.
Absolutely cannot fault the staff. The staff on Raglan 2/4 was amazing. Constantly checking up on all patients in the same bay as me. The surgery staff was amazing but my worries down & made me laugh before I went in for surgery.
amazing staff care food and went above and beyond the only thing was the gynaecology ward staff are not the best and made me feel quite uncomfortable however A&E and glenn usk ward are absolutely amazing very understanding staff very kind and caring i would have to give 5 stars for A&E and every ward there but with the gynaecology staff i'm afraid is only a 2 star i eneded up leaving seriously unwell due to rudeness and not very nice looks etc i have severe complex ptsd and other problems however i will say this is NO reflection on all staff on the ward
i would like to add a reveiew for my surgeon (professor paul edwards ) and his whole team thank you for everything if i could leave you a ten star review i would thank you
I was treated at Neville Hall a&e on 14/08/18. The staff were fantastic, very professional and caring. My wait time was very short.
Everyone was lovely. Done everything they could to help me and went over and above to make sure I go forward in helping me manage my medical problems. Thank you so much to all the team. Appreciate everything you've done for me. :-).
Timely intervention.
Informative.
Knowledgeable.
Said what the team would do then did it that is important.
From the moment I was admitted to the time I left I was treated absolutely tremendous. The staff on Glan usk ward are fantastic and I would ike to say a special thank you to Rachel who looked after me so well pre-op to post-op. The theatre staff were fantastic thank you.
Referred by my GP to Emergency Assessment Unit. Nurses were unhelpful, grumpy, uncaring and seemed to spend a good deal of their time looking at Facebook.
I was vomiting and close to passing out and no-one came to check me despite me calling for help from behind my curtain. I was sat in a chair and moved myself to the floor in case I fainted. When the grumpy nurse finally came she just told me off and told me to sit back in the chair. I was never even offered a tissue to wipe my mouth.
It took 8 hours waiting in a waiting room with ZERO communiation, no water or food. No hourly checks on the people in the waiting room (check they're not worsening, offering pain relief etc). I continued to feel extremely faint and was just told to go back to the waiting room. At no point was an ounce of human kindness shown. I was treated as if I was getting in the way, the nurses chatted A LOT to each other and didnt communicate AT ALL with patients.
When I finally saw 2 doctors they were helpful, apologetic and listened. What a shame they were let down by the nursing staff.
I took my son here who had a tumble. I was sitting just behind the curtain in his cubicle so wouldn't have been seen if you glanced in. There was a lady next one along who did seem to be talking a lot but she was in a scary place A& E!. Two nurses came out of her cubicle and pulled horrible faces and used that hand gesture which means talks way too much. I was shocked and actually quite upset by it. The NHS gets terrible press but this kind of thing is simply unkind and cruel. Imagine if that poor lady had seen them.
