My 7 year old son received multiple episodes of care at Morriston hospital for an ongoing condition. Whilst our consultant care was excellent our experience of general doctors was appalling. Many mistakes were made that in my opinion caused my son (and our family) unnecessary stress and discomfort. Including; wrong information being provided regarding waiting time/ list, failure to make appropriate referrals for investigations (leading to unnecessary wait) unnecessary procedures carried out, damaged and inappropriate equipment used on the ward that caused an incident; wrong medical devices used leading to procedures needing to be repeated or extended; information not handed over; medical notes not being present. Despite the majority of staff being supportive and pleasant, for the above reasons we lost all confidence on their ability to organise our sons care. Just not acceptable.
