On arrival at the hospital car parking was a huge problem, hopefully this will improve when the renovations are complete. Not being familiar with the Hospital I headed for the Main Entrance Information Desk to be greeted by two smiling faces but please don't be deceived by this initial friendliness. On asking for directions I was told to walk up the corridor and then follow the long tunnel which would take me to the department I required. However, due to the vague instructions received I was unable to find the tunnel so returned to the desk to as how far along the corridor was the tunnel located. The reply was "How long is a piece of string". Surely anyone has the manner and intelligence to say about 20 yards, 30 yards, 50 yards etc. but "How long is a piece of string" - How rude. I telephoned the department to ask for directions and the lady on the telephone was very helpful asking me where I was at the moment and directing me while I was on the telephone. I would not have found this particular department without her help as it was located down the tunnel, then outside down the hill, up a narrow alley and behind two porta cabins. With regard to the RUDENESS of the staff on the information desk I can only assume that they are volunteers with nothing better to do and they certainly have no respect for the NHS in Wales or patient care.
