I experienced chest pain and rang 111 for advice. Due to my family history of heart problems they sent for an ambulance. The first response paramedic was called Mike and he was absolutely amazing. He was so caring and reassuring and helped me so much to keep calm. He is an asset to the service! An ambulance then turned up to take me to hospital and the two paramedics Paige and Liesl were equally as lovely and again nothing was too much trouble, both amazing ladies! When we got to A&E I was seen quickly for my obs and blood tests. Again although the staff were busy they took the time with me and were so lovely and reassuring. I felt so confident in their care. I then had to wait for my results which did take about 3 hours but when I saw the doctor for the results he was so apologetic for the wait, there had been two major traumas and so they’d had to deal with those first. I didn’t catch his name but he was so lovely! Again so caring and even though it turned out to be due to stress, he said I’d done the right thing for coming and if I ever had any concerns to come back. Absolutely amazing staff who are worth their weight in gold and a wonderful service that sadly so many people take for granted or are quick to moan about. I just want to say a massive thankyou to you all for doing what you do!
