My mum was admitted to Mearnskirk House for end of life care. I cannot thank the staff enough for the kind care, compassion and attention she and our family were given. I am sure the staff (Janet, Cathy, Susan, Pauline and Stuart, to name a few) go above and beyond to make a sad journey bearable. As if they don't have enough to do they supply you with endless tea, coffee, biscuits and even jam tarts (thanks Susan x). Such a sad time but a happy and caring environment. Thank you kindly from the bottom of my heart for looking after my mum and looking out for my dad. Kind regards Fiona Cummings x
Mearnskirk is a beautiful quiet hospital set in beautiful gardens which is ideal for end of life care. The staff are experienced in palliative care and show empathy and compassion. It's hard at times to remember its a hospital as it's so homely. The visiting is ample 13.30-20.30 and the staff will also use discretion on these times particularly when your relative is poorly. I think it's the ideal setting for palliative care.
