As a recent patient in one of your wards I was disgusted by the smell of cigarette smoke wafting through the place. The moron in the bed next to me, who incidently had signed himself out on 5 previous occasions, left the ward on numerous occasions to go out for a 'fag'. He came back in reeking of cigarette smoke turning my stomach, and making me sick....I went into the hospital to get better and left worse. I thought it was illegal to smoke in hospital grounds. Maybe I'm mistaken...but to say there is no way of enforcing the ban is nonsense.

Best Catheter change I’ve had so far. Dr Sammy and nurse Nicole were brilliant. Explained everything and even showed me me other options. Very patient and helpful. There was another nurse in attendance who was also very helpful. Couldn’t fault this visit at all.

I was seen in the orthopedic department yesterday by a dr Sam Jose , after two hospital admissions in February an assessment with physio I expected some help at this appointment as I have being living in severe pain . Firstly this dr did not examine me or have any interest in any concerns I had I was trying to understand if the tumours in my spine were causing me so much pain. This dr sat with a screen in front of him stating I suffered anxiety and stress and stated I had to be sent to pain management, whether a patient does suffer from anxiety this cannot cause tumours in their spine . Therefore I think an examination and further investigation was fully warranted given the fact I can’t sleep/sit or move comfortably. I didn’t even get the chance to discuss the fact that I’m losing feeling in lower limbs as this dr brought in a nurse and rushed me out the door stating he would send me to a neuro surgeon for a second opinion because I wasn’t happy at his approach. Leaving me once again awaiting in severe pain to be seen. I feel really let down by the nhs and this drs approach to his patients .

Attended the medical photography department, I was seen straight away by a very professional young man, Kevin Mora Rosenkratz. He explained everything he was about to do very carefully and clearly. The hospital was as usual very clean and organised. I always leave a review when I visit this hospital as it’s good to give praise when it’s due. Thank you again Hairmyres.

I was seen today in the respiratory department. I was seen almost immediately, all the staff were professional and friendly. I was treated with great care and respect by an extremely professional and kind man called Patrick. I can't praise him highly enough, I felt very comfortable and at ease as he explained my small procedure (lung expansion test), very thoroughly. Thank you all for a great hospital and in my experience, wonderful treatment. Letitia Reid

A & E is a complete utter shambles with waiting times to be diagnosed at about 8 hours plus it is totally unacceptable no toilet facilities available at some reception staff are ok but some there information gathering is rather questionable in reality if I could get private care through the NHS I would try and achieve that outlook apparently staff always seem to have 2 nurses to co oberate each others side of a story when receiving treatment I pay national insurance contributions and frankly I think its a not professional issues raised time to be diagnosed and receive proper treatment exceeding 8 hours unacceptable in A&E toilets not working staff can be quite defensive if I gave it out of ten it would be 2 id rather attend some other hospital than this one a total disgrace get your act together people whom work for local government

I can’t praise the A&E staff highly enough for their wonderful care when I had a debilitating chest infection. Dr Campbell, the nursing staff, radiographers, reception staff and porters were all kind, courteous and efficient. They are great ambassadors for our NHS.
