An incredible healing holistic oasis, and flagship. The staff are so positive, heart-ful and professional, with great values and ethos. I wish all environments could learn from this approach. beautiful environment and treat patients with huge dignity.

No support at all immediately after the passing away of our 86 year old mother. Not one person came to speak to us in the 3 hours we stayed in the lounge and room to tell us what we shoud be doing, also in the lead up to her death we felt compeltely alone as in not one person came to give us advice in what to expect in her last few hours/days and it was absolutely traumatising. A very arrogant senior doctor came in for a once also not sympathetic, plus when we asked for something to help her breathe when she was clearly suffering no-one would help During her stay of two and a half weeks there were never the same staff, different people in charge who were disinterested in the main as if she was just irrelevant. We are still having nightmares about the treatement or lack of that we as family were given

I would recommend without any reservation for anyone requiring the services of a Hospice, Marie Curie. The facilities, treatment and care provided by the staff was simply excellent and helped support me and my family at a time of considerable sadness. I hope all the staff read this feedback and if so please accept my thanks and gratitude

My mother decided to accept an in-house admission for the sole purpose of rehab however, less than 24 hours of being in the care of Marie Curie, my mother had two hypos due to her bloods not being monitored. Further, when my mum was having a hypo I rang her and noticed that she could not speak. I rang Marie Curie and notified them of the same only to be told that my mother was happily enjoying breakfast. How could the nurse not know that she was having a hypo? Since then they have messed with my mothers drugs (as her sole carer I know what works and what does not work) resulting in her being set back. She arrived in a car only to be told she would need to be taken home in a stretcher - no it is not her conditioning worsening as tests confirm this. Marie curie is a great place so long as you don't want to get better or are unable to get better. Having seen the neglect, I would not recommend (appreciate they are a charity) and deeply regret allowing my mother to be a patient for the last 5 days. Even my mother is saving she wants to leave and come home. Also, I was met by the consultant (and her entourage) that wanted to talk about my mothers condition. The consultant took me in a private room and started talking...I had to interject and ask who all the other people. This was a little inconsiderate to not introduce or give me the option from the outset as to whether I was ok with others being in the room given the fact that two of the entourage were students. I am all for learning however, it should not be assumed that it is ok - Marie Curie if you are reading this review please have the courtesy of asking whether it is ok for students to attend also as I personally felt under pressure to say it was. There is one Dr in particular (who I will not shame) who is some-what arrogant and rude when input is given in respect of medication. Their view will always be objective until knowing a patient (which takes time) before the view can become subjective. On the whole - I am sure Marie Curie bring peace to those families who know the end is nigh, but for those who have been recently diagnosed and are able to manoeuvre and want to make improvements, given my mothers experience please do not go here. That is the one regret that I have. As I type I am still awaiting on information regarding my mothers discharge despite calling twice yesterday and twice this morning - only to be told my call will be returned.
