On Sunday the 22nd of December my wife had to ring 999 due to the fact I was having a heart attack, the ambulance was at my house within 5 minutes and the paramedic confirmed that I was having a heart attack, I was taken to Wythenshaw Hospital where I was fitted with a Stent because of a blocked artery, this was at 11-30 pm, I was then transferred to Macclesfield District General Hospital, arriving at 01-30 hrs, I was taken to the Coronary Care Unit where I was met by the night staff nurses, they really put me at ease after such a horrendous few hours, the first thing the did after putting me to bed was to make me a much needed cup of tea, they also offered to get me something to eat but I was not hungry. I spent 4 days on the ward and at no time did I feel unsafe due to the Covid 19, every single member of staff including the consultants, nurses and cleaners put the patients first, everything I asked for was done for me and the other patients, nothing was too much trouble even though all the staff were working behind closed doors, even the staff could not go beyond the main entrance unless the were going home, at this time during this Covid outbreak the staff are working so very hard to keep themselves and more so the patients as safe as possible, they really are the Angels Of Mercy and without them things would surely be a lot worse, the pressure all the staff are working under is tremendous but they still put the patients first. I say God Bless every one of them, without them I and a lot of other people may not be here today. Thank you MDGH for your superb care and your cleanliness and good food. Mr Philip Kimpton Macclesfield
