Asked to arrive at 3pm day before lung ablation op ( stage 4 metastastic cancer) and was asked to take a seat in waiting area while room was being cleaned. It is now 4.39 and I am still waiting in the waiting area which is being used by porters and nurses as a break room. None of these people are wearing a mask while in here with me. I have avoided covid all this time and feel as though I'm going to catch it here. Totally unacceptable, when they require all visitors to take covid tests before visitation. I have chrones, cancer, two worn disks and a bulge in my lower back, spondilosis of the neck and suffer from anxiety. I am in agony and my anxiety is through the roof. 10 minutes ago a nurse came in to collect a chair, so we mentioned the time waiting and so she told us it was nearly ready and she would find out what is going on. (Contradiction, does she know or not)This nurse came back out, walked past and returned without informing us of anything. Just to further illuminate you, I was in 3 wks ago for a wk with heart attacks and the visiting rules changed according to who was on duty, and a cleaner was cleaning with no mask and coughing and sneezing everywhere. Only after this was mentioned did she then wear a mask, seemingly to late cause my room mate has caught covid! Absolute waste of money and resources which should have been used to upgrade the hospitals already here. I am appalled.
