Kept on a trolley for 36 hours, I was given an Egg mayonnaise sandwich and a pot of what was supposed to be porridge and toast which was inedible. As for the nursing I called for a nurse who took ages to see me and was told they were not qualified enough to help. One time I was shivering and the nurse said are you cold she told me to try and relax, however when I mentioned it to the consultant he said that it would be a reaction to the antibiotics. Some of the nurses were amazing others were not up to the job. Praise must be given to the porters who kept me sane with their cheerfulness. I was not kept up to date with what was going on, it seems that it was too much trouble. My family were not kept up to date with my status. They were given numbers to ring but no response. The reception would leave them on hold for 30 to 40 minutes at a time. When I was able to leave my wife was told to wait at Reception only to be told after an hour that they couldn't get hold of the ward, she had to find the ward and ask for me. Total disorganisation. Wonderful hospital a shame they have no idea how to run it.
