Been working here a long time and all I can say is the managers need to change they treat staff like garbage and put our safety at risk by under staffing wards or putting us staff in dangerous positions, they have taken away all staff meals throughout the day and night shifts, wards are run with staff that have no intentions to help you in any shape or form especially with the staff that was employed this year, all experienced staff are leaving or have left because of the horrible conditions and the managers don't care as they have clearly stated that they can get a health care worker for a penny and a pound, they truly don't care about any of their healthcare team they have and things need to change drastically

I was a patient on Awen ward for just over 2 years and staff often went above their job roles to help me including doing extra hours to take me on home leaves something me and my family will forever be grateful of. Don't get me wrong their were certainly staff i didn't get on with but even on the days when staff were stressed and narky it was normally because they had got 16 patients all screaming at them for their own needs but also a 1000 different jobs Now do you see why they may be a little stressed. When i left my 1st hospital i had barely had any leave but within the first few weeks of Llanarth court i was allowed leave with staff. By the time i left i had 28 hours unescorted into town and local area. The o.t staff i worked with were always willing to try new activities even allowing me to start doing mental health talks for staff as well as quilling, Wii games, karaoke, photography group as well as cooking, arts and craft, pamper sessions, ground leave and community leave. The patients there were all in different stages of recovery but some of them i have truly made lasting friendships with. This may sound biased but the staff including bank and agency there were always great with me even when i was struggling or distressed and needed extra help. Although i will admit communication could have been better at times but i have found that in many placements. Staffing levels were at times an issue but always quickly resolved . Psychology was amazing although therapy was hard but it has helped me so much especially after i had vowed i would never ever do DBT in my life after a previous experience in Birmingham but i happily completed my year course and even popped in to a few extra sessions. During my time there i found things tough but fair. If i was willing to knuckle down and work towards my goals then the staff and my team were more than willing to make things happens most times going out of their way to ensure it happened.

I have worked at the hospital for many years and am proud of the fact that the majority of staff demonstrate care, compassion and commitment to the people we care for. Unannounced HIW visits and Wales NHS inspections regularly visit and audit the hospital and they always report that the dedication and engagement of the staff is of the highest quality. The implementation of new initiatives has begun and patients compliment that the use of mobile phones helping communicate with their families. I intend remaining at Llanarth Court hospital as I feel it is a great place to work

I applied for bank staff at this hospital I felt the training was not accurate to the position. I wasn't happy throughout the training and am considering if I even want to do any shifts there
