My mother H Thomson was in Ward 1 Liberton Hospital for four weeks. From the minute she arrived she was treated with kindness and total respect. You might this to be the case in every hospital ward in every hospital. Would that it were. The nurses from the most senior to the students to the care workers were First Class. Ward 1 is a Beacon of Goodd Practice. As family members we were also given first class support and kindness. Mum passed away peacefully she could not have received better end of life care. All nursing staff were totally attentive to her needs. I and all family cannot praise the whole team highly enough. Thanks to Mariam, ward manager, Staffordshire nurses Chelsea, Mary, Sarah, Fiona , care staff Rebecca, Angela , Amanda all day and night staff whose names we did not get. You are all wonderful. I hope the proposed changes do not lead to a break up of the excellent nursing teams who we observed showing seamless team working, kindness and compassion to the patients in their care. When you know that your relative is receiving such a high standard of care , you can be reassured and relax . Some other wards in the nearby general hospital could learn a huge amount from this team. Grateful thanks from me on behalf of the family. Mary Davidson
