I have been waiting for an appointment with my consultant since June this year. I am supposed to see him every 12 months and have an MRI scan every 2 years. When it got to September I thought I should contact Dr Healds secretary to find out what has happened to my appointment. Imagine my surprise when I was informed that Dr Heald no longer worked at Leighton! I suggested the secretary that as I was one of his patients should I not have been informed of this and told who my new consultant would be? Apparently not, my notes would be passed to Dr Quareshi and I will get an appointment over the next few months as there is such a back log. I asked how many other patients had not been informed of Dr Healds departure but there was no reply. The service at this hospital is atrocious, something needs to be done.
