For four days I was told persistently by a consultant there were no surgical issues regarding my husbands health. It was suggested that he was to be transferred to a medical ward but, if I did not want this, I could take him home. However, within hours of this advice, he had to undergo emergency surgery for a blocked bowel. The surgeon who operated on him went on to deceive him into signing a consent form, made excuses and lied persistently, even contradicting herself in the process! It is extremely unwise to challenge any member of staff at this hospital, you certainly will not get any help or back up from anyone which has resulted in me going to the national media to get these and other stories about Leighton into the public domain. They are masters in the art of closing ranks and and experts in the science of complaints dismissal.
