Every front line member of staff was excellent with me. Professional, caring and empathetic. The administrative side of my experience was, however, quite the opposite. Lots of time spent waiting around for paperwork, in particular reports that I know had been sent by my GP but could not be located. Follow up appointments were a nightmare, my consultant said I needed a follow up appointment and immediate physiotherapy, for which he said he would make an immediate referral. After two weeks I had heard nothing and I spent the next month with daily phone calls and even faxing the office to try and get these appointments. First there was no record of any referrals and then eventually I did get the appointment, however this was some six weeks after I was supposed to start physiotherapy which may well have damaged my long term recovery chances.
