I was treated under BUPA in the BMI Coombe Wing at Kingston and was very pleased with every aspect of my care there, especially that of the nursing staff, whom I found attentive, caring and professional yet friendly and reassuring. My room was clean, as was the bathroom and the food was excellent. The only thing that marred my experience was a problem over anaesthetics, where I did not feel that my feelings were being taken into account. Although I was a bit overwhelmed at the time and went along with what I was being told, the nursing staff, who realised that I was distressed although I had said nothing, were great and spoke up on my behalf, ensuring that I was not given a spinal anaesthetic that I did not want but had been pushed towards having by the anaesthetist. I had personal reasons for not wanting this form of anaesthetic, which were accepted by my consultant but disregarded when she wasn't present.
All information from the hospital regarding treatment was received in good time and I found the clerical staff very helpful and efficient.
In general terms I am very happy with Kingston Hospital where I and my family have been treated for over forty years. My wife, now retired, worked in the Physiotherapy department full time until both our daughters were born there. Many great improvements and developments have been made over the years but the car parking is still appalling and too expensive for many people. The medical staff and support staff are "Wonderful". Thank you all.
I am a very satisfied patient.
To date the Kingston Hospital system has worked well for me.
I personally think that the Hospital is very good. I have used hospital several time for my children, one of which was born there. The staff are excellent and caring. The hospital itself and grounds are well maintained.
The only issue with the hospital is the parking, which is expensive and limiting as sometimes you can be at the hospital over the time you expect to be there, especially when visiting the A&E with a sick child.
Treated really well, knowledgeable and friendly staff
I received excellent care from the doctor I saw
My disabled son has received a lot of care here before being transferred to the Evelina for more specialist advice & treatment. But before this he has received good care from Kingston hospital most of the time, some times think they could listen to me as a dad and sole carer of my son a little bit more. Nurses are all excellent with my son so thank you
Clinically I believe the hospital is very good, however I think its administration could be improved.
One disappointment was that there was no 'day room' (as far as I know) so it was not possible to get a break from the ward.
I was dreading my out paitent appointment today because of my previous unpleasant experience in the temporary accommodation.
The new accommodation was a welcome relief, it was airy (a hot day) and spacious. I was seen early which again is not my usual experience of out patient services at Kingston hospital (cardiac).
My only criticism was that the ladies toilets could have been cleaner and tidier.
Kingston Hospital was superb. I think we have to safeguard how good this hospital is and not shut other ones in the county.
Children's A+E were faultless, kind and honest about the situation which I liked.
From the porter Ford, to nurse Emma, Chloe and Charlotte, the intern Amira, Dr Filkin, the lovely lady serving food to the staff who helped with the very scary MRI test for my seven year son - everyone and I mean everyone we met were superb and really loved their jobs. We were so lucky!
