I believe that every person on Earth whose sight is spoilt by cataracts should have access to care of the quality which I have received from the Kingston Eye Unit over the past five years.
Both my cataract operations were carried out as day surgery, with local anaesthetic. Both were highly successful.
I've been to this hospital several times and have always found it to be very good.
The doctors and nurses have been extremely helpful and kind and helpful, also it was very clean. Once when I stayed for a couple of days I had no complaints apart from the food!! which was absolutely ghastly!!
Considering that Doctors and nurses deal with a huge amount of patients who all have different medial / social / emotional needs - I feel very lucky to have received such a warm, caring and informative service from everyone involved in my treatment so far. I can’t put into words how grateful I am for the patience and calmness of the doctors / surgeons etc I have come into contact with regarding my current situation.
Kingston Hospital department of Dermatology and Plastics have been marvellous. Nurse Saskia Reeken and Dr Hogarth have checked my skin ever so carefully and in the past when they found suspicious moles, they act immediately. I was phoned very quickly and called in for day surgery.
They continue to monitor my skin every three months.
I feel very lucky to have had such wonderful care.
I am so grateful to this department.
I felt like I was being looked after and in very good hands. Communication is good, and I was assured that I could contact my main carer at any time - it is a great relief to have direct contact to someone at the hospital if needed.
All staff very caring
Great care by great people.
