The overall care and treatment was very good. My nurses were attentive and supportive. Were able to provide as much information regarding my treatment , surgery and aftercare as possible.
The doctors were very informative when questions about my care and recovery were asked.
a male nurse (white colour in his 30’s) gave me a terrible experience.
While taking my bloods. At first he was resting his hands on a bin without gloves and didn’t wash his hands and didn’t use alcohol to clean his hands. While inserting the needle in to the vein he then was confused and panicked as he could not find the correct vacutainer safety lok that fitted into correctly for the right type of vacutainer bottle. This caused blood to flow continuously and he then used his finger to block the other side of the needle where the safety lok goes. It was not hygneic and was worried I can catch some thing as he used his finger to block the blood flowing out and dripping. As he panicked he shouting across for help from a female Indian nurse. I got upset and asked him to remove the needle. When he removed it he didn’t even apply pressure to stop the bleeding and I had to do that myself. The Indian nurse asked if she could it instead and there was no issues then. Please don’t keep useless nurses doing the bloods.
He also did not the tourniquet.
They could have communicared a bit more than they actually did...I had a brief memory loss but didnt know why i was there in A&E....They wanted me to wait on my own in the waiting area as my husband needed to go back home to rest as he was extremely tired and there was nothing he could do other than sit around..He had to keep asking what was happening.
The nurse team wa so caring and kind.
There was no doctor and that made me feel so bad. In the begin I was in a lot of pain and I was desperately waiting for them to give painkillers and they didn’t until we kept on asking. The wait hours was so long. Went in around 9 pm and got seen by a doctor at 4:20 am. Bare in mind until 3 am I was in a lot of pain. Also I vomited and on my discharge form says no bonitting so incorrect information. I have 2 blushing disc, dislocated tailbone and sciatic pain and all that long hours I was in a chair I kept on saying I’m in a lot of pain because of it if possible put me on a bed but they ignored
I respect doctors but I don’t support their strike as a doctor I believe they take an oath and they ignore it not thinking there are so many people in need of them. They are misusing it
Perfect experience
All the taste were carried out
I have been lucky in the past not to have needed the services of this hospital.
I was well looked after from the moment I walked into the hospital, from resus to MRU ward to Bart’s hospital and then to Gardinia for my medical discharge. All the staff involved from ward orderly’s to minor and major nursing staff right up the consultants , have been helpful in ever-way.
I cannot thank them enough.
Not
I received excellent care. Thank you. I was especially impressed and grateful that due to an emergency and therefore cancelled operations, the surgical team operated till late in the evening to do the scheduled procedures.
I spend the night on Japonica Ward. The nursing team looked after me very well and I was in good spirits all along.
Variable experience with nursing staff. Medication left by drowsy patients who are unable to take it . Family members were finding medications from the night before or earlier during the day. Consequently the health and well-being of patient suffered with doctors amending treatment protocols as they felt patient wasn’t getting better from the treatment given. Patient commenced on fluid restriction but no documentation of fluid balance by staff. These are a few things but a complaint has been put in place to ensure this doesn’t take place with future patients.
