I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing incident that occurred today at the King George Hostel's emergency department, involving my wife. Today, my wife experienced a severe medical emergency with bleeding from her ears, accompanied by hearing loss, intense pain in her ear, vomiting, and a high PBR. In our state of urgency, we sought assistance at your emergency department, expecting prompt and compassionate care. Regrettably, our experience was marred by the unacceptable behavior of one of your nurses. The nurse in question displayed extreme arrogance, rudeness, and disrespect. Despite our pleas for immediate attention and consideration of the acute situation, she callously insisted that we proceed to Queens Hospital for treatment. As a medical professional myself with substantial experience in the field, I firmly believe that such behavior from healthcare professionals is inexcusable. Patients, especially those in acute distress, deserve empathy, respect, and proper medical attention. Instead, we were subjected to a dismissive and confrontational attitude. We understand the challenges faced by healthcare professionals, but we implore you to investigate this matter thoroughly. It is imperative that actions are taken to address the behavior of the nurse in question, ensuring that patients are treated with the dignity and care they deserve. Such behavior compromises the well-being of patients and reflects poorly on the reputation of the hospital. We trust that you will take appropriate measures to rectify this situation and prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future. Our primary concern is the well-being of patients, and we hope that this incident prompts a review of the protocols in place to ensure compassionate and professional care for all individuals seeking assistance at King George Hospital.
