Doctor service was good , had to chase the nurses for my appointment with the consultants.
Suggested improvements
I have had active surveillance for 18 months and have had a poor experience and lost confidence in the nursing service. 3 monthly PSA checks have been 6 months and longer if I hadn’t intervened. My annual MRI scan was after 18 months as I couldn’t convince the specialist nurse that it was a requirement because my PSA hadn’t changed?. The MRI has since identified a new lesion requiring treatment and would have got worse if left untreated because of poor nursing practise. My suggestion is Proper TRAINING.
In addition the specialist nurse telephone service needs improving so messages are responded to the same day.
