It’s had an exploratory laparoscopy done at this hospital privately by a well recommend surgeon. I woke up at the early hours in severe pain with what felt like a very strong urine infection. I was told by the nurse on call that it was normal. The next day I told the staff clearly, I’ve got a urine infection. I asked for my urine to be sent for culture. They did not send it for culture despite guidelines for catheterisation saying ‘send straight to culture’. They gave me presumptive antibitoics. Over the next week to 10 days my infection becadme severe and travelled up to my pelvis and bowels. I rang to get my culture results and they told me they weren’t back. The reality was they hadn’t sent them. They offered no support, no advice, no offer to re culture my urine. I spent the next 3 weeks in agony thinking I had Pelvic inflammtory disease when instead it was two urine infections that I contracted during the operation. I was so unwell I was bleeding from both ends and couldn’t walk. I have been left in severe ongoing pain, because this hospital did not follow normal procedure and dismissed a 38 year old women telling them she had a UTI from a high risk catheterisation. BASIC HEALTHCARE.. Then the complaints team proceeded to gaslight me, also claiming I never called the hospital when I had the call logs. Dangerous practise, cannot carry out normal safety procedures on patients, cannot carry out trust worthy investigations when things go wrong. Staff are inadequate and under qualified. You couldn’t pay me to ever return here. Stay far away.
