After being told an ambulance would be 2 hours we decided to make the trip to a&e in my car. My partner has two Chronic physical health conditions, one if which is Leukemia, he was in so much pain he was screaming out and crying. On arriving to the doors directly outside a&e a security guard challenged my parking, then proceeded to watch as I struggled to get a ricketey wheelchair and my partner into the building. Once we got in I cannot praise the A&E staff enough. The receptionist was compassionate and listened to the information I gave and we got in to see a nurse. She fought for a bed in Majors (thankyou) (which she shouldn't have to) and once we got into the bay the advanced nurse practitioner and the nurse - I believe his name was James Abraham were fantastic. James was so fast in getting pain relief into my partner and could not do enough to make him comfortable
