Patients are put into spacious cubicles that allow appropriate seclusion with room for family to be present. The work going on with other patients is not seen despite it being prolific. There is an atmosphere of calm efficiency going on. My mum was the patient and she was treated with friendly patience and respect. Family members were welcome. This helped to cope with the time taken which was acceptable given the number of patients. This level of service continued in the acute medical unit.
