The care I received throughout my extremely long labour was amazing, I attended when I was in the early stages of labour but due to the pain I was kept on delivery and given analgesia. Robyn was very caring and compassionate then the night team came on and Helen (worked at Doncaster) was my named midwife. She was also amazing, very caring, compassionate and thoughtful. Helen listened to me but also kept me calm and was good company when my husband and mum fell asleep. Due to complications I needed an emergency section which was undertaken with great speed, the theatre team, registrar (female, not sure of her name) and anaesthetist Kathleen were another example of the great staff you have. They kept me fully informed through it all. All of the staff I had seen during the night including the theatre team came to see us on the recovery area despite being past their finishing time. Then the recovery nurse took over and again was fantastic, she cared for myself and even treat my husband to a cup of tea. All of your team went the extra mile and it was greatly appreciated. A credit to the NHS. Downsides- -labour room was freezing all night, even the staff put their hoodies on when they came in. - lack of comfy chairs for birthing partners - birth partners unable to sit at the bedside - no wheelchairs on hospital entrance, it's a long walk to the delivery ward when your contracting every 3 minutes or so. The caterer had to help me upto the ward and get me a wheelchair. I'm not sure if her name but I was very thankful for her. Overall really positive and praise should be given to all of the team.
