My husband was treated as an inpatient before receiving palliative care at home and afterwards back in the hospice where he died. I am so grateful that his last days were treated with love and respect. While he was receiving care at home, he had many carers. They were amazing and , once again, I cannot express my gratitude to them for all they did for him and for me. Four of them even called on me after he had died to check that I was all right.
Death of a loved one is a trauma but the hospice care turned a nightmare into a positive experience.
