Goodmayes Hospital was awarded the iWantGreatCare certificate of excellence in 2025 for delivering outstanding care.
My time on entering a busy A/E went very smoothly . This in regards to a possible Stroke. I was registered after a short wait and after details taken directed to Majors. Then after not a too long wait I was seen by the first of three friendly doctors who after asking some questions arranged for blood tests . blood pressure and a ECG etc to be taken.I praise all the nurses and staff that I came into contact with. I was then taken to another ward where I was examined by the second doctor with tests associated to Strokes . As before I praise the doctor and nurses of this department who helped me through this phase. The doctor then arranged for me to have a C T scan and then to be transferred to the last ward. Once again the doctor here informed of what the results were and what would happen next. I would like to thank one young nurse who kindly wheeled me out of the hospital so I could get a signal on my phone to contact a friend. Once again many thanks . I entered a very worried man and left more contented.

Nurse Shebbelle was excellent. She put my cannula in and I didn’t feel a thing. I don’t know how she manages it as previously it has always hurt

pricked my finger with a dirty instrument. The nurse who took the blood was lovely. The doctor on the other hand was quite rude she called me i greeted her did not get a response back. I told her what had happen and that the tray i did was a tray with a trigger not to be touched by technician only superviser, i explain that the water i put the instruments was contaminated with other patients blood so i was worry as i dont know if the patient has anything. I sat for nearly 7 hour to be told by her that it low risk i ask her why that was she said that it was because it only one patient n it different from a needle prick. I explain to her its not just one patient, she replied she thought it was i said thats incorrect. I asked if she could go back as the information she communicated was wrong and it might change the decision she refuse to. Then went on a rant about how her and the microbiology are strong women, not no soft touch and thats what she like. Her attitude was absolutely disgusting
