I attended A&E four days after total hip replacement. I was told I would be admitted and given a scan the following day. I was kept on a chair in a side room all night with three other people. There was nowhere to wash, shower or change clothes. There was nothing to eat or drink.
The following morning I was given a scan and diagnosed with pneumonia. I was provided with antibiotics and discharged.
At no point did I have a bed.
