I was sent here as a follow-up to some nerve tests (tests showed nerves are normal) relating to a wrist injury (sustained while playing guitar). The consultant (Mr Gadelrab) saw me for about 30 secs, didn't give me time to ask questions, before sending me off to get a splint and told to come back in 4 months. I wasn't given any clear information as how often to use the splint, do I wear it constantly? 1 hour a day? 2, 3? Can I still play the guitar? Any exercises I can do? Do I rest it? What am I supposed to do for next 4 months. The splint lady, another doctor and a nurse all provided conflicting advice as how to use this splint. The consultant himself (Mr Gadelrab) had gone home. The only thing clear I'm clear about when leaving the centre is that I have to come back in 4 months time. I wanted someone to talk to me for 2 mins to explain what I should do in the next 4 months, is that too much to ask? I guess so. Bitterly disappointed in the treatment I received today. I was given precisely zero useful advice and simply rushed through the system like someone in drive-thru fast-food restaurant.
