When I first went to my gp about water work problems they said the sooner the treatment the better the outcome.Seen the first doctor after a few tests sent me away telling me it’s my age even though you’re passing blood and no follow up. I’m waking home from appointment taking to myself i can’t believe they sent me away say that. Twelve months later seen a second doctor things are worse but he basically said the same. Im telling him I’m not right i can’t pee we are not in his office we are in the corridor already called the next patient. He then said he would send all the results to Christie’s (he forgot because he’d already called the next patient’s) ( still no follow up bleeding from the penis must be the normal) Same again I’m waking taking to my self can’t believe he’s just said that i know in my own mind there’s something wrong.In the end I’m thinking he must be right that’s two doctors said the same . Nearly two years back to the gp things are a lot worse same again the sooner the treatment the better the out come .Seeing the the third doctor more test examination he’s reading my notes which makes a change could tell by his eyes and manner there was something wrong.Said I’d better have biopsy done . We got the results back Not One But two tumours in the prostrate one inside one out(don’t forget he hasn’t sent my results to Christie’s he’s forgot) The next appointment the doctor is trying to express the urgency in this it’s been left to long and books two things he wants full body scan and X-rays he said he needs both to find out where the cancer has gone he’s seeing me in a few days What did Furness General do only sent me for one I’m trying to tell both they said no only one . Went back to see doctor first thing he said we’re is the body scan I can’t make a decision (there’s more to this but I’ll leave it there) I get the missing X-ray and he makes his decision it’s radio therapy or have it out after that he said he would not be seeing me again and McMillan nurse would be taking over and they would phone me that day or the next to let me know what was next (I’m STILL WAITING FOR THAT PHONE CALL five years later ) Eventually see the nurse weeks later said he was changing jobs and had been busy didn’t matter I was on the ceiling full of stress wondering if I was going to make it. Going to see the surgeon about having it removed what did he say MEN ARE SILLY THEY LEAVE IT TO LONG WILL NOT GO TO THE DOCTOR ( that’s a good joke) It took Five Months to get the surgery by then I could feel it sticking out above my pelvic bone and could feel it when I sat down like sitting on a tennis ball SO I’VE GOT NO THANKS for Furness General they all most killed me then they have the cheek to call it a teaching hospital whoever is teaching them isn’t making a very good job. And as for pals they don’t think it’s wrong for a doctor to say he’s going to send your results to another hospital and then forget to do it and have no follow up. And if you think you’re safe in another hospital you need to think again the place absolutely smells of urine and i wondered what the mark was on the floor found out later it’s where pee bag drips on the floor. Had the operation and was told get up out of bed and move around quicker your up the better I’m up marching up and down the wards.The next day should have had a leg bag on to collect the urine but no they forgot and that affected the drain bag I had on my side so they wouldn’t let me out .Any talked them into letting me go home so there putting the leg bag on and she put the pipe work on upside down so it would not have drain in to the bag she’s only been doing it for twelve years so maybe shouldn’t have expected to much and that would have affected the drain on my side as well.
