I taken one of our children here today who was sent home from school with chest pains, i collect my child from school and taken her straight to hospital, upon checking in before the reception I was met by someone who was very argumentative, She asked if I had provided pain killers for the chest pain in which I responded no, she asked why in an abrupt tone and i said " because I have just collected her straight from school and brought her here" her reply "well really you should have given her paracetamol before bringing her here! I'm sorry if my child is perfectly healthy usually and develops chest pains I am off course going to take her straight to AnE as per the guidelines on the NHS website - this is not the only issue with this hospital, previously have taken my son here as he was very unwell, they diagnosed "just a Stye" they asked me to return if no better the day after, which it wasn't and was told "why have you brought him back" I was sent home, that night he was rushed to North Manchester with pre septic cellulitis in his eyes and suspected meningitis. I will never return here every again!
ward 14 and theatre staff were amazing. Thank you.
very efficient
Went Fairfield on Sunday afternoon sent from111 from going into a&e to the nurse to recus had to wait 11 hours to go to ward 7 as it was very busy all staff were brilliant then moved to ward 8 on Tuesday could not fault anything staff on 8 brilliant they treated everyone with respect and dignity keep up the good work
Wonderful staff on ward 7 especially the nurses running on their feet all day & night looking after patients and being short staffed, brilliant care, also nurses on war 2, couldn’t do enough for you. Cardiologist Dr Khan who did my procedure, so attentive, caring and professional. Thank you to all at Fairfield.
As an outpatient I can only comment on the hospital on what I saw. The hospital is undergoing modernisation so workman are about. Lots of hospital staff, I mean lots of staff, standing around chatting, eating, collecting food deliveries. The dress code is so casual, scrub type overalls with casual sweatshirt zipped tops, not hospital issue. Impossible to identify job roll of individuals, could be cleaners, students, qualified people, who knows! Where has the pride in ones appearance gone, The staff are very pleasant but it all seems so casual. Appearances are important as well as conduct so please be more discreet when snacking or meal times and dress according to your job title so we can recognise you.
good hospital and good care but lacks good parking facilities
My Name is Paul Dyson. In the last two weeks I have been fitted with a Dual Chamber Pacemaker. The procedure was at Fairfield Hospital Bury. I want to thank all the staff on Ward 1 in the Acute Cardiology Department for their kindness, Professionalism and the care and attention that they showed me, before, during and after my procedure. I cannot praise them enough. I hope this is read and my gratitude is passed on to all concerned.
Kind Regards
Mr Paul Dyson
The whole of my treatment has been fantastic, from my heamatologist to all the nurses & chemo nurses!
