East Surrey is an example of what can be achieved by an NHS hospital in times of austerity. I was admitted via ED/resus as an emergency medical patient. The care received in the ED resus was slick, timely and amazing given how busy they were at the time of my admission. This nurses were really fantastic, I was really scared but they were reassuringly efficient and caring. I was transferred to AMU and the consultant Dr. King was really compassionate at a time of much anxiety. Dr. king was informative and reassuring, clearly caring in what is a demanding, fast-paced and difficult clinical environment. I was transferred to Tilgate Annex within 24 hours of admission to be cared for by specialists for my condition. Tilgate was an amazingly reassuring and caring environment. Dr. Acharya and the nursing staff were outstanding in their care, I was truly grateful and felt safe and secure. I recovered slowly but was not hurried to be be discharged and was provided with a clear discharge plan. Dr. Acharya made sure I was well enough to go home and ensured I had a plan if I became unwell again. The nurses were professional, caring and, especially on Tilgate, went that extra mile to make sure patient were card for and happy. I'm so impressed with the care I received, well done East Surrey Hospital and the NHS!
