My surgeon was wonderful and did a terrific job on my hip. Nursing care consisted of looking at machines and making notes. No words or gestures of comfort. I was given opiates when I had requested none as they badly affect me. The result I woke up in the middle of the night (hours after the operation) alone and cold and the nurse only appeared when all my machines started beeping - but still not a word; or would you like a drink!!! I could only eat a few mouthfuls of food I felt so sick but it didn't bother any of the staff.
