There are issues that need resolving before very good. The staff are excellent and the atmosphere great. However the wearing of lots of metal badges on lanyard hardly equates safety. Not all staff wear My name is… badge. Is it obligatory or not ?

The name boards above beds should be filled in accurately despite my preferred name being written staff used my official name. Requests such as nbm or sips not amended. In bay 15 of the ward the bins are in situ. The person there has very little space the chairs and cabinets need rearranging and perhaps the bins disguised by putting a curtain across leave lids and pedal accessible or something better.Build cabinets to house them? The grey upholstered chairs are a nightmare. When do they get cleaned? I am 5’2 “ on a good day when I sit on those chairs I either put my feet on the ground but have to sit on the edge or I sit with my back supported and my feet dangling in the air! Not good. We are not all of the same build and stature why is there a generic chair for all patients. The air mattress whist I understand the need for pressure sore treatment seriously these mattresses are horrendous to move on. I suggest every doctor and management procurer lie on these mattresses with an abdominal wound and try and move. Lack of communication causes tempers to fray. To be told by Dr you can leave at 08.15 am and still be waiting until afternoon is not good. Could on admission could the discharge procedure be explained or the discharges done differently? Meals were generally good. However I was in for day surgery my lunch was obviously put side. Why was it eaten by someone else. Each meal comes with a label why isn’t it saved for the person on recovery. Seeing staff eat crisps meant for patients isn’t good. Regarding meals several patients ordered meals from outside and ate them and did not want the meal which had been prepared for them. This is an appalling waste and needs to be stopped a minimal charge per meal might stop this.!

I was with my husband who has dementia. No complaint about the staff but dementia patients should be fast tracked! Very stressful visit for me and very distressing for my husband!! He was tired and getting irritable and angry with me. It was a horrible experience! I hope we never have to go through that again. I would have thought that a hospital of all places would be dementia friendly. Surely it's better for all concerned that the patient isn't irritable and distressed?

PLEASE fast track all dementia patients. 4 and half hours in there is cruel to them, they don't understand what's happening to them. Surely it could be done? I'm not the only carer who thinks the same. PLEASE PLEASE can you do something? I'm sure like myself, all carers will be grateful. Thank you I am a pensioner but had to put 18 as my age as no other option
