With 9 hour wait, I had a nurse in front of me refer to me as her. I was spoken to very rudely by the nurse staff. I asked a number to times how long my wait was going to be and at every point I was met with rudeness, told I was next even though I ended waiting 9-10hours to be seen by the doctor. The nurse I'm question. Average height, black hair and fake large lashes wearing blue scrubs. When walking into the room with the doctor, she stood facing me and said to the doctor "tell her (referring to myself) when your done with her tell her she needs to go back to the other waiting room" I was standing right next to the nurse and the doctor while this was said. She could have spoken to me directly or reffered to me by name. That hurt my feelings. I felt degraded. I was there as I was in pain and worried about a large mass on my chest and instead of being treated with kindness and compassion, I was treated with redness and disregard. She was so abrupt I refused her as a chaperone with the doctor because I didn't want to be treated by her any further. Further to this happening i was left by the doctor in the treatment room, he advised I could wait there untill he sorted some bits. While waiting I popped out of the treatment room and said goodbye to someone I knew who was still waiting in the red waiting area. Within a minute i returned into the room, a male nurse wearing blue scrubs and female student nurse with grey uniform followed me in and rudely questioned me why i ran into the room. I explained, im a 36 year old woman and not a child, i did not run into the room, and i followed the doctors instructions. The student nurse left to check if i was telling the truth and came back and said the doctor says you can wait in the waiting room. I asked them for their names as I was not happy with how they have all treated me and they refused. They were quite smug about it. I believe as i refused the female nurse with false lashes as my chaperone as i told the doctor i didnt like the way she referred to me. She didn't like this and her colleagues started to be rude because of this. It felt like i was ganged up on which was quite concerning To ensure you locate this nurse as three different nurses refused to give me any names for my complaint. I entered A&E 17/04/2024 22.09pm. I entered care initiation red waiting area after booking in with the reception staff. This incident happened between 4-5am. The doctor was very nice and understanding with me and the lady at the front desk who helped give me the information to write this. I would like this complaint made formal and the staff members investigated as I left the hospital crying because there was not any reason to be treated so disrespectfully and without any compassion.8

Suggested improvements
This to be investigated and taken seriously. The staff member to investigated into their behaviour and subsequent action taken
