The waiting times are dangerously long for many and a 3/4 month wait between assessments is cruel, arbitrary and doesn't reflect a person who's waited 1-2 years in the first place.

Thank you for this. The team are actively engaged with commissioners to increase the capacity of the team, and therefore reduce the wait.
