I was so apprehensive when I found out I was being admitted to Cygnet Harrogate, because like most people, the first thing I did was google and look for reviews. I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience, but if like I did, you are sat somewhere reading this review waiting admission, I can only say I had fantastic care. The staff were kind, patient and always did their very best to help. Even when I was displaying some quite challenging behaviour, they never gave up on me or dismissed my worries or fears. The nurses and support workers sat with me through some of the worst moments of my life and coached me through them. I won’t pretend being on a psychiatric ward is nice, especially when you’ve been detained against your will, but that’s going to be the case wherever you are. What makes a huge difference is how you’re treated by those looking after you and I couldn’t fault the care and compassion I was shown by everyone at Cygnet. p.s, the food really is great too!
