having been dianosed with a dvt i was given no advice in this unit and left to sit for over 15 hours over two days told i could take pain relief as i needed it but took ibuprofen which ive learned since i should not have taken. no pain relief was advised or given when medication was arranged. no aftercare advise was given so as a result i have not had any sleep and been in agony and unable to walk. when we sort advise the next day from this department we were fobbed off with - go and see your gp. it took alot of pushing to get any help at all and that was given grudgingly. when asked if this was normal we were again told to go to the gp when we said i cannot get down the stairs we were told to call an ambulance!! what a complete and uttter waste of time and money. eventually we were told i shouldve been taking continuous pain relief that cannot be bought over the counter and be moving around to help the clot disperse and that sitting for two days if the totally wrong thing to do yet i was left to sit in the department for nearly 2 days and not told this. it is a total disgrace,
