The staff were great throughout my stay, they gave me the time to recover and get used to things in the outside world. I never felt like a problem to anyone. Everybody worked well as a team. The freedom and lack of tea cafe was refreshing compared to the Mainland hospitals. My family was welcomed to ward rounds and their views were appreciated. There was enough times in ward rounds compared to Southfields. Dr Phin was always funny and the staff are always funny and the staff are always upbeat and friendly. Generally very happy with my care. It would be nice to have more choice on medication. Thank you for your help and support.

Appointment was on time and staff paid special attention to my needs and upgraded me to High Risk with 6 weekly appointments due to my condition becoming worse. That is what I call an excellent service by the NHS

To whom it may concern, In the early hours of Sunday morning (04/02/18), I had the misfortune of having to deal with a mental breakdown involving my brother. After finding him in a helpless state I was eventually able to get him to the A&E where I hoped we would find the usual caring compassionate staff I normally encounter. However on this occasion, I had the displeasure of dealing with DR. Jung Wei (junior year, year 1), Max Ejikeme (mental health nurse) an DR. Howett (the on call consultant). On arrival at A&E we were quickly told to make our way to Seven Acres, for which the porters bus was provided. When we arrived there, we were greeted by Dr. Jung Wei and Max Ejikeme, initially all they were interested in doing was sending George home (despite knowing full well he had previously attempted suicide in the past and expressed concerns that he was thinking of trying again) because they believed him to be drunk, it was only after much trying we were able to convince Max to get the breathalyser so my brother would at least have the chance to prove he was sober enough for at least an assessment. When Max eventually agreed to fetch the breathalyser, he came back into the reception with it and I asked if I could hold it to my brothers mouth as my brother wasn't comfortable with Max or DR. Wei, getting so close. After 2 failed attempts (largely due to my brother severe asthma), Max began to laugh at my brother believing that he was unable to blow successfully due to his supposed intoxication, after the 3rd/4th attempt my brother successfully blew 0.11mg meaning he could still have legally driven with ease!! Max didn't seem to like this result and I honestly don't think he knew entirely what the numbers on the machine actually meant. After some more back and forth they eventually agreed to assess him and it was decided that he should in fact be kept in for a couple of days. There's more to this story, but it's upsetting having to relive a fight for care that we should never have had to make.
