I found the consultant who spoke to me very condescending in her tone and manner. I am unsure why I was referred to this service with the dietitian as I was originally liaising with my GP practice directly. There were no suitable options available for my daughter to take vitamins hence why it was requested to provide the chocolate drinks that were previously supplied (as these contain vitamins). My daughter has a diet that is very limited as had no fruit and vegetables. The consultant requested my daughters weight and this was given to her in stones. She then asked me if I had it in KG I advised no - and she then said that she would have to work it out in a tone again. This comment I thought was pointless as this should be part of her role to easily convert measurements. Once the consultant worked out the weight she advised, her weight is fine “ so how can we help you then” and then stated “ we already had this discussion last year and we advised that we can’t prescribe the fortusip. Again this was stated to me in a sharp and condescending manner. I found it extremely unprofessional for her to state in the discharge notes after the appointment that I had put down the phone on her. I also found it unprofessional of her to mention that I was unhappy. Again totally irrelevant to add to notes as I did not state this per say. The phone simply cut off due to my reception and she did not make any attempt to call me back. She even mentioned during the call that the reception was bad. A suggestion of a blood test again had no back bone or any further explanation was given as to what benefits this would provide.
