I am not happy with the level of care that I am receiving from the diabetic care clinic at Moulsecoomb. The consultant seems to concentrate on giving you more and more tablets, my blood pressure is never checked, nor my feet are checked during the visit. No advice is given to how to improve my diabetic condition ... etc All in all, I feel that the system is bureaucratic and with a very slow response to the patients needs, as the clinic hands the appointments and the prescription of drugs themselves that usually take ages to administer from the time of patient's visit, as before the patient made the next appointment through the clinic themselves, or the drugs were prescribed by the consultant and the patient could take the prescription to a pharmacy and obtain the drug and start using it, as now has to wait for ages to be administered. For my last appointment, I had to chase the Here office for my appointment that was long overdue. I used to visit the RSH hospital for my diabetic clinic and everything seemed to be working fairly efficiently, as with the new system is very bureaucratic and slow, and seems to treat the patients in a factory based conveyor belt system, in and out as quickly as possible, with no discussion with the patient on treatment of their condition!
