My room was not cleaned throughout my stay. There was huge quantities of hair on the floor. It was long and dark. I understand hair drop happens but the floor was covered. I showed it to my carers but the floor was not cleaned It was not only unhygienic but it was disgusting.
The service I received was fantastic
Because I received the care I needed.
The quality of care and cleanliness of the environment were excellent, as were the medical machinery which were very up to date.
On the whole my stay at the Cleveland Clinic was exemplary. The only weak point, I would suggest, is in communications between the night and day teams. My departure from the hospital was delayed because the night team - who had attended when my surgeon confirmed I could leave - had not properly explained this to the day team who all looked utterly confused when I was ready to go.
Dr Charles Murray was excellent. Very caring and attentive. Facilities were very good. Very supporting nursing staff
The care given by the medical staff, catering, cleaning etc was excellent. You have excellent caregivers who do you proud. However they and patients are let down by the pharmacy who were late delivering medicine to the ward on every occasion. The worst was on discharge when they delayed us by two hours, not ideal for a patient exhausted and in need of their medication. The excuses were terrible. This isn’t fair to patients or the medical team providing such excellent care. It’s also not what you would expect of a ‘well led’ organisation or indeed London’s most expensive hospital. I am happy for you to contact me for further discussion and indeed asked that I be contacted.
The care from the consultant and theatre staff was excellent. However the nursing and porter care felt disjointed and they didn’t come across as though they worked in a team. There was no sense of consistency between shifts and I answered the same question multiple times.
