The medical and non medical members of the Cleveland Clinic were friendly and professional in the delivery of services. Many nurses went beyond the call of duty to ensure that I was comfortable and felt at home as much as possible. The housekeeping team also were extremely warm as they went about their duties. The kitchen service may be the only area which can be improved immediately. I think menus could be more diverse for international patients and also think the staff (which I assumed are relatively new to the institution) can be more prepared when delivering meals since they sometimes forget the appropriate cutlery or other essentials for the consumption of the meals. Your physiotherapy team was outstanding ambassadors of the Clinic. Tamara and Darnley in particular were exemplary. Tamara showed great compassion to me throughout the process. Sean also developed a healthy rapport with me always reassuring me of my progress based on having a bilateral hip replacement surgery. I kept music within my bedroom (431) and many members of staff thought this was refreshing. Perhaps the clinic could consider especially when conducting physiotherapy session inserting background music since music helps us to tolerate and relax more when we are facing uphill exercises after a major surgery. Just a suggestion. I also think a few plants on the floor of the wards could also help to bring a less sterile feel to the clinic which is predominantly painted in white. Some vibrant accent walls could be useful.

Suggested improvements
The medical team who visited did not always demonstrate compassion and sometimes I wasn't sure if they and the consultant were communicating at the level they should be. Another area that could be aligned is your My Chart portal. Navigating this portal is not difficult but it is somewhat clumsy. Hoping you can improve on this.

I believed I addressed this in the earlier review. Mr Gikas is a world class medical practitioner. I am honoured to be his patient. He keeps in touch regularly even post my discharge and final visit before returning to Ghana. I have introduced him to persons who are in need of his services and will keep making these introductions because Mr Gikas demonstrated he was interested in my overall welfare.

Wow. Mr Gikas recommended we have this procedure at the Cleveland Clinic in 2021. We considered January 2022 for the procedure however Covid-19 impacted on the opening of the clinic. Mr Gikas felt this would be the most state of the art hospital in the country and the clinic lived up to that billing. Mr Gikas is an outstanding asset to your consulting team. His professional skills are exceptional but his ability to understand and relate to the most sensitive psychological issues of the patient is quite remarkable. Every time I met with him, I left with a greater understanding of the next steps both pre and post surgery. He has become someone whom I consider a friend coming out of this experience. I am grateful to this outstanding surgeon. I treasure my relationship with him. I've mentioned Tamara and the physiotherapy team together with Sean. There are just too many outstanding nurses to list here so I wouldn't attempt but Nurse Comfort is perhaps due for special mentioning because of her ability to elevate the definition of compassion. What was also noteworthy was a few administrative staff displayed genuine interest in my day to day progress. This was refreshing. Ward Nurse Tabie Mahlangu may be your greatest asset. Her ability to offer reassurance together with her royal presence endeared me to her immediately. She was also very proactive in ensuring services that may have been sourced outside of the Clinic lived up to timely deliveries. I refer to the laundry service which initially not many members of the team at Cleveland could provide a clear understanding of how the service worked. Tabie Mahlangu was able to bring this in alignment with consummate ease. I want to salute the housekeeping team and the maintenance team of the Cleveland Clinic London. I thank them for showing me so much love and consideration.
