I think the group is great and at first i was really nervous but now i feel as if I’m a part of a community that include me and care about me.

The only thing that could be done better is thinking about what issues people have regarding the analogy’s used so it doesn’t trigger anyone.

i was extremely lucky to have a very understanding dbt coach who understands my situation and supported me throughtout my time so far

i think having more breakout rooms and time to get to know each other is extremely cresol for the group

I have been really impressed with the sessions, I found it very difficult at the start, But was always supported throughout I felt when I started that there was a goal I would like to reach and I can say, I managed it again with help and support from the therapist who I would like to say went above and beyond to help my situation and cannot be more thankful.

This process has not been easy but has offered an opportunity to improve my mental health and learn life skills that will enable me to function in a way that allows me to enjoy life once again. The compassion and guidance that both [name removed] and [name removed] provided was sincere and invaluable. My journey with [name removed] provided me with opportunity to reflect on my past experiences and make sense of some very difficult feelings association with those experiences. I was able to see things from a different angle which changed my perspective entirely and allowed me to let go of some long held feelings towards myself. The more deep set rules i had acquired I was able to make sense of and challenge in a way I hadn't before. [name removed]'s support gave me the strength to create a new way of thinking. Hearing her questioning me about my rules encouraging me to look for facts has become a voice in my head to replace the bullying one. A supportive and gently challenging voice that stands with me not against. I have learnt not only how my past shaped my mental health but how I can use skills to improve my future such as find the facts, challenge my negative thoughts, look for positives, it's ok to sit in an uncomfortable feeling, self care is important and how to share responsibilities. These skills I can not only apply to myself but am also beginning to teach my children to help them, something that led me to seek help in the first place. This journey is only at the beginning but I can now say without cringing that I am a unique but worthwhile person and without the support of [name removed] and [name removed] especially I would not have recognised that. I cannot thank you enough.

I genuinely can't think of anything beyond making this service more accessible. I only discovered it when researching for a qualification. People I've spoken to have not heard of it and I think that needs to change.

I thought this program was great. I have learnt so much and it was delivered in a great way. The video examples were very useful and the diagrams in he booklet made everything easier to understand also. And they are useful when I want to reflect back on what I learnt. It was delivered at a good pace. Some topics were more difficult to understand than others but [name removed] had patience and took time to go over them as much as needed to ensure we understood and I got there in the end. I really have learnt so much and it really has helped loads. I appreciate having the opportunity to have taken part. Thank you so much.

Perhaps the videos used in the examples could have included younger children so we could have related a bit more but other than that, I can't think of anything :)

The severity of my situation was recognised straight away, and I was provided with the reassurance that appropriate care would be available. The staff member responsible for my care was outstanding, and helped me out of a very bad place over the course of several months.

The only improvement that may have helped me further was having in person sessions/ consultations, however I understand this was limited due to Covid measures.

Staff were very kind, supportive and motivating. I could tell that they wanted to help me and wanted the best for me. They were very knowledgeable and sent me a range of resources to support the sessions. Appointment times were flexible and staff were easily contactable. I felt involved in any decisions made about me.

Face to face sessions may have made this service better.

The support that I experienced from [name removed], the young lady who works in Northampton, MH, Magistrates Courts and Custody was simply outstanding. This young lady constantly went over and above throughout the entire process. I am grateful beyond words for her support and understanding, not to mention help throughout. Thank you [name removed]. Her understanding of my MH needs and requirements was exemplary. She initiated referrals for myself to veteran specific agencies who specialised in mental health. If this young lady is the standard to which the organisation holds itself, then well done, absolutely amazing. Again, thank you [name removed].
