Sadly my wife passed away in Bury Hospice, but the care she received personally and the wider care for us as a family was brilliant and much appreciated. In addition to the direct care for my wife, we met with one of their counsellors after her terminal cancer diagnosis and then again as the disease progressed and eventually I attended bereavement counselling sessions by myself. Throughout all the sessions, we felt supported and that the staff cared about us. They were able to provide useful suggestions for ourselves and our family, that helped us better cope with the situation. I honestly believe that the staff at Bury Hospice have made a very challenging experience much less difficult than it might otherwise have been. I know this view is held by several members of our family.
